Are you a carwasher dealing with unsafe working conditions, disrespect or earning less than the minimum wage? Or do you want to help support a carwash worker as they organize? Check out the Carwash Worker Center.

The Carwash Worker Center in South Los Angeles opened January 2013. Envisioned by the carwash workers, or carwasheros, the Center is a safe space for workers and their families to engage in a variety of activities. Within the space, carwasheros can exercise their right to belong and be themselves. That means using the space for cultural events, classes and sharing the space with other organizations. Carwash workers seek to create a culture of solidarity among all communities throughout Los Angeles and Southern California.

Carwasheros currently use the space for the following:

• English as a Second Language classes
• Food Pantry and Distribution
• Collection of Clothing
• Leadership Development Trainings
• Workforce Development (Health & Safety/Worker Rights)
