The CLEAN Carwash Campaign is happy to announce that 14 car washes in South LA and Santa Monica can be called “A Better Carwash.” A Better Carwash means a better life for carwash workers & quality service for customers. You can be sure that a better carwash pays its workers fairly and treats them with respect and dignity.
Los Angeles was the first city in the nation with a union carwashes and LA continues to lead the way supporting unionized carwashes where workers are treated with respect and dignity. These new unionized carwashes represent a growing precedent of responsible carwash owners taking steps to ensure their employees have a voice in the work place. These businesses have pledged to follow all labor, health, and safety regulations as well as giving a 2% raise to their workers. These new union carwash workers, also known as carwasheros, are represented by the United Steel Workers Local 675.
