What is “A Better Carwash”?

A Better Carwash means a better life for carwash workers through fair standards in protection and pay as well as a better quality of work because of that security.

So, if you see a carwash facility with the “A Better Carwash” emblem, you know you’re putting your money somewhere that workers are treated fairly and have a contract.

If you don’t see the “A Better Carwash” emblem, that could mean there is a problem at a carwash and its part of an underground economy. Ask these 1-2-3 Questions:

1. Is it Safe? Are workers wearing protective gear like gloves, aprons and boots? In detailing, are there fa masks and gloves to protect from chemicals on tires?
2. Are Workers Paid Fairly? Are all of the workers being paid at least the minimum wage for ALL of the hours they work? Are they paid for less than the total hours worked? Are they paid for overtime hours?
3. Are Workers Treated Humanely? Is drinking water provided to workers? Are workers given adequate time and space for breaks and meals? Is there a shady area where workers can take snack break away from the chemicals?

If any of these things don’t look right to you, report it to us immediately.
