About the Event

We’re excited to celebrate 10 years of organizing, advocacy, movement building, and car wash worker power! Our success is a result of our Carwasher@s’ leadership and community support like yours. Thank you for every hour you spent on the picket line. Every delegation you participated in and resource you provided. Every time you washed your car at a union car wash.

We have accomplished a great deal together in the last 10 years, including:

• Establishing the first union car wash in the nation in 2011 and the 32 union carwashes that currently exist throughout Southern California
• Establishing a worker-developed and worker-led Car Wash Detail Training Program and worker center
• Amending, strengthening, and passing the Car Wash Worker Law as permanent state law
• Recovering millions in stolen wages for car wash workers
• Raising the minimum wage at the city and county as members of the LA Wage Theft Coalition and Raise the Wage Campaign
• Exposing hundreds of unregistered non-compliant car wash operators throughout Los Angeles County

But, there is so much more to do. Car wash workers are still robbed of their wages. Pirate car washes continue operating. And immigrant workers are under attack. Support our efforts through these critical times. Join us for our 10 Year Anniversary and help meet our fundraising goal of $100,000.

These funds will help us:

• Add one full-time position to develop car wash worker leaders throughout the county
• Guarantee another year of our detail training program
• Continue to provide a physical space for workers to use
• Help us to clean up non-compliant car washes city by city
